Peach Tree 1 Diva 0
05.28.05 (2:42 pm)   [edit]
All day I have been plucking peaches from my tree. Big ones. They are so pretty. I broke out my 12 ft ladder to get the fruit that I couldn't reach just by climbing the tree. Going around picking the larger fruits - leaving some others to continue growing. I have five grocery bags full of peaches. (and more to come)

I'm on the last section of the tree - and there's this huge beautiful one, I'm on my tip-toe to reach it.

You know what happened, don't you?

Yes, I fell. The ladder tipped and hit the fence -which I guess was a good thing but I have a deep gash in my forearm and I have a feeling that I've broken my arm. It's swelling up and it hurts to move my fingers.

However, with my medical plan, the only place open this weekend is the main hospital downtown. (SCARY PLACE) I would probably be there for days. So I'm just going to self-medicate until Tuesday and go to my local clinic to get x-rayed.

I don't want a regular cast - that will mess up my tan lines. (I am still the Diva, aren't I?)

Hi, Diva! Sorry to read about your mishap. Take care of yourself. May be Mr. Red can beam you some pain killers from his online pharmacies where he is getting his supply of Vitamin V.

ouch.. be careful, i walked around for a month once on a foot i didn't realize i had broken. i knew it hurt and i complained, but my mom thought i was trying to skip school. the doct was not happy it didn't get it looked at and set right away. the bones had tried to knit, then got re-broke who knows how many times.

we don't want a diva with a crooked arm!

if you think you have a fracture, you get yourself to ER. Yes, you will have to wait, but the potential exists for further trauma to develop around the surrounding tissues. Plus, when was your last tetanus shot? get your butt over there!

Oooh. That is scary. I hope you can get by for the next couple of days.

At least you have lots of peaches.

tetanus shot was 3-4 years ago.
I went this am. like a good girl.
I don't trust the dr. that I saw.
Requesting my xrays to be sent to my pcp.

I wish you had been my nurse - they were all cranky there...

Thank you. I am stockpiled on pain meds. In case of a natural disaster, I could open up my own pharmacy. (I"m allergic to most of them)

My life is a series of mishaps. ;)

I walked around (including a hiking trip) for 3 weeks with a broken big toe. Of course I was also wearing my strappy heels too...

No pain, no gain, right?

Now I'm trying to decide what color nailpolish best coordinates with my beige-y brace and white mesh sling. Can't they color coordinate some???? Arrrrrrgh!

(Of course, I haven't figured out how I'm going to pain my other hand...)

I didn't get any injections. Needles don't phase me a bit. I've been the human pin cushion.

But somehow I don't think you're talking about a needle.
