First loves
02.10.05 (10:11 pm)   [edit]
If you could meet your "first love" or significant boyfriend/girlfriend from your high school or college days, would you? Do you think there's still that 'spark'? Do you think if you tried again, that it would work this time?

And - have you ever google'd them or checked around to see if they are still single, etc?

Nope. I had no great loves in college or HS...I had 'friends' but that's about it. My first true love was my first husband, and we see how well that turned out, lol.

Think I'll just be content with the best love that I have right now :)

my first love was and is an idiot. i did contact him againm like 3 years after we had broekn up....he was even more of an idiot than the first time. oddly enough i had 2 dreams and he was in them in the last 2 months...but im married and happy now!! i know there isnt that spark...i really dont think there ever was but i thought so then!! He's still sexy though and if i wasnt married and we did meet it would only work if he changed any!!

No, I'm way beyond that in this point of my life. My "first love" was all good until we got married, and then it was all down hill from there. If I hadn't come out of the closet, and ended that relationship, one or both of us would be dead or in jail by now.

I had a boyfriend, if you can call him that, when I was twelve and he was 14. Michael Love. We "went together" off and on until I was eighteen. We met in the group home we both lived in and still stayed together after we were out. He had long, square tipped fingers with the cleanest fingernails I'd ever seen. His skin was so clear and smooth I used to just touch it with the back of my hand.
When we were in the group home we talked about us riding down by the inlet on his motorcycle and how we'd make our way to Maine.
When I was a junior in high school he bought a motorcycle and picked me up everyday from school.
We even kissed by the inlet.
You know, I DID google him once but it's a fairly popular name...plus what would I say to him now!?!

Shespecies had a sorta similar experience... At least you figured things out sooner rather than later!

How do you look in orange jumpsuits?

You're different now. Maybe he is too. It's nice when they've actually grown up.

I think that's a great theory... If you have gotten it right, why tinker with it?

A man changing? (picking self off the floor from falling off chair laughing so hard) You have a point there. You're happy and that in itself is a blessing.

Uh oh. If this ends up in a total disaster, don't blame me. But if it ends up good, I'm happy to take all the credit for it. LOL

My first real boyfriend in High School was a great guy and a lot of fun. He married and after 20 years of marriage announced that he was gay. NO wonder he was so easy to get along with, Gay guys make the best friends! So obviously there is no future love interest in him., friendship possibly.

yeah, I google them all the time. Then I found that my one big love died of a massive coronary last year. It kind of threw cold water on the fantasy of "what if I met him again?" Other BFs have proven to be fat, balding or both!! I think I'll stick with what I've got!!

Yes, I was madly in love in college. She got married moved away. Now she lives back in the same town I do, and we've talked. My heart still jumped the very first time I talked to her on the phone! 2 years ago I saw her in the store I was in, once again my heart nearly jumped out of my chest, but I did not go over to her and talk, I was too afraid!!

Guilty of googling. I have no idea where either my high school or college boyfriends are. I'm pretty sure they're both married.

I don't want to run into them until I've neared my weight loss goal, though...

The first person I said the L word to was my first girlfriend in college around 1991. I had not seen her since my graduation in 1992. I was behind her at the drive thru at McDonalds in St. Louis in 2000 and she was married.

She did when we were dating. :-p Actually it was an elephant g string. I got it for christmas. it had an elephant face and the trunk was.. well, you probably know what the trunk part was used for. Then if you squeezed the trunk it played Jingle Bells. The only problem was that the trunk was too small.

I haven't googled any of my old bf's. I'm actually still in contact/friends with most of them. A few I might suspect to be behind bars (kiding). The 'one', sometimes I would like to know if he's ok. I still think of him but... If I looked for his contact info and found it, I would want to make contact - and I recall he said when it was over, it was over. (Translation: He can find me if he wanted to)
