Bearded
01.19.05 (7:41 am)   [edit]
Forgot to mention about "Mick/Mitch"... He's 42. Average looking. But he's recently grown a full beard. And it makes him look AT LEAST 15 years older. It's gray. He looks much better without it.

I'd like to offer some female input. Guys, what is your feeling on it?

I'd ask him when he started growing the beard and why he decided to. Then I'd ask if he'd like some honest feedback if he didn't ask me what I thought of it. Then I'd tell him that I think he looks much more handsome and more youthful without the beard...

What are your thoughts?

(I still wouldn't go to the hotel room with him even without the beard! LOL)

Well, Mitch was brutally honest with you. i.e. "I really enjoy interacting with you" Laugh. I don't think it would hurt for you to mention that you think he'd looked better without it.

Just tell him.....unless he is the sensitive type and will cry....aw, hell, tell him anyway!

I don't know what the guy looks like, but facial hair does make people look older. Why would people want to look older? Beats me... :)

depends on the guy... whether or not they can pull it off... i prefer the young boyish looks myself.

I personally do not like facial hair on men. ( and even less on women!)
I always feel that the guy is hiding behind it. Plus it's tickly and scratchy.

Maybe if they have a bad chin or weak jawline? I dunno.

I'm not even a fan of the goatee. "Ned" had one. I prefer a clean shaven man. And no ear or nose hair either. And 'manscaped' too!

I'm for clean-shaven guys too. (Although I've had my share of longer-haired bad boys too)

Years ago, I dated a guy that didn't shave very well (or it grew back quite fast). We were having a serious smooching session - turned out his chin stubble rubbed my chin RAW! It was gross! Oozing for a week! It's kinda hard to put a bandaid over your entire chin, ya know?

It was sore, but it was more embarrassing than anything b/c we were on a dive trip with a group and I kept dodging pics and would only let them be taken from a distance...

I had a goatee off and on for a while back in college, but what would inevitably happen would be that I'd not be able to leave it alone, it would itch, and I'd get annoyed and shave it off.

I can't stand facial hair any more, and I think that has something to do with the realization I had a while ago: whiskers are basically the same thing as pubes. Since then I haven't even been tempted to grow anything on my face.
