Naughty Girl
11.18.04 (2:08 pm)   [edit]
I guess I've been a naughty girl. (not in THAT sort of way, although I wish I had...)
I trimmed ivy this afternoon, cleaned my gutters, washed my birdbaths, then got my leaf vacuum doo-hicky thing and sucked 3 trashcans full of mulched leaves. It felt SO good to be outside. I've missed being even remotely active. The f'ing drain is leaking worse than my kitchen sink. I feel like I need to walk around with a maxi-pad attached to my hip. (TMI, I'm sorry!)

In a drug-induced shopping spree, I ordered a Convection Oven last week. It came yesterday. It's HUGE. I have no clue where to put it and I have no clue how to cook with it. It says it cooks 'faster' and at 'lower temps' but gives no other info. I tried searching online but the only 'tips' I found were to 'generally cook 25% less time and 25 degrees lower' unless recommended cooking time is less than 15 minutes, otherwise, watch it. HUH? I somehow foresee a lot of burnt items. Anyone have a convection oven in Tblog-land that knows howto cook with it???

Forgot to mention that I met a guy on Tuesday for a drink (I had water). Will have to blog about that later.

EVERYONE THAT DIDN'T WISH KRAZE A HAPPY BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY - YOU BETTER WISH HER A BELATED ONE TODAY!!!

convection is just basically the same as an electric oven with a "fan" that circulates the heat for faster cooking..which is great because your kitchen doesn't get so hot, things cook more evenly and it saves some energy...not really much difference otherwise...i love mine...xoxoxo glad you are feeling better!

my friend had a convection/regular oven. I seem to remember that things cook faster and that there is a fan in the oven to circulate the heat more evenly? I am assuming that the time it takes to bake something is going to be much less and so the time is adjusted accordingly. Good Luck!!

The thing is HUGE. I have no clue where to put it - I don't want to keep it on my counters... It won't fit in my pantry

Define 'a pro'?

I have utterly no place to put this thing. No counterspace. No cabinet. Won't fit in my pantry....

You may donate said convection oven to me. I would also be said "pro". Convection ovens kick ass!! Is it supposed to be a wall-mounted jobbie, or a countertop hoo-hah?

I've already got it ready to go back - my cats really like the box though...
