Music + Sex
06.25.04 (1:10 pm)   [edit]
I was talking to a friend last night that is having a very romantic date planned for tonight and somehow this led to a discussion of the perfect music to have sex to.

My reply was, well it depends on what type of sex it is. But there are definitely a few that when I hear them, I think that's a good song/album for nookie.

What about you? Any songs/albums that you think are good for having sex to?

Oh good one!

Most music by Vanessa Daou can put me in a mood. "In Your Room" by Depeche Mode (and a few others)...ambient stuff like Delerium (especially the whole "Karma" cd).

Don't laugh here, but I used to "groove" to Enigma. The first album was OK, but Return to Innocence was much better.

As you said though, it depends upon what kind of "groove" you're looking for.

Lots of different music comes to mind depending on the situation...

Mazzy Star - Fade into You
Nirvana - Nevermind (whole album)
Anything by Hanson (kidding!)

Those are pretty old albums. LMAO And very different styles. Somehow ABBA never fit into the whole romance thing -ya know?

Anything by Tristania or very dark music. I have whats called the circle of flames & well let's just say if you leave the circle, its most unpleasant but very very satisfying to me, along with the music.
Good Blog

The best is "Karma" by Delerium. The tempo is right, the mood is perfect... it's a romantic evening waiting to happen. Try it, you'll like it! :)

So maybe ABBA would work? Or would it make you want to pound your head against a wall until your ears bleed?

I guess that depends on if you're in the mood for some gay sex - to use your words. LOL

I have excellent earplugs, and a very high tolerance for pain, so, if ABBA is what it takes to see the promised land, then ABBA it is....though I do prefer some Smokey Robinson and Barry White for those "sweet, soft moments", and some screaming metal by Judas Priest or Dokken for those "Rip, Rattle and Roll" nights....(grin)

I will have you know, Diva dearest, that I do have my soft, tender side....just got to find it first...(grin).

I am not ALWAYS a manly man...sometimes I like to be cuddly and sweet...like right before pheasant, dove, duck, or goose season.....(grin)

I don't admit I have a soft cuddly side. Gotta keep up the ruthless cold-hearted bitch image.

Lemme guess, pheasant season runs Jan - Mar, Dove Mar - June, Duck, June - Sept, and Goose Oct - Dec?

Deftones!! All the freakin' way, Deftones is soooo good to have for background music, specifically the White Pony album and their S/T one. Phenomenal... just the way Chino sings makes the music rather sensuous... yet heavy, it is great!! My ex, our secret word for sex was the Deftones.. We'd be like, hmm, I could listen to some Deftones right now... ... :o(
Enigma is good too, he uses very sensuous rhythms and melodies.. The Love, Sensuality, and Devotion album is a good one.. It's like a best of, only they are all remixed for the most part.

Bahhhh......dove opens in Sept, unless you go to Argentina, then pretty much year round, followed by pheasant mid Oct, then ducks and goose end Oct thru Dec. Unless of course, I catch spring goose up in North Dakota.....(grin)

Well...who would you LIKE to shoot? And would we be able to articulate in court that it was self defense, or at least justified?

Why don't we start with some clay pigeons, and then work our way up....and about all I gonna be able to do for awhile longer is coach. Don't think my shoulder will take the recoil just yet.

Hummm...so I take it your not going to see Farenheit 9/11? I watched Bowling for Columbine, and how the hell he got the schools video footage, I will never know.

I agree that I don't particularly like the man, I personally think he is nothing but a gadfly, with nothing constructive to say, but he can be amusing.

So, if I send you some tickets to see him speak, or some of his books (autographed, of course), you would be less than pleased?

I just don't want to sit thru that flick in a crowded theater full of disillusioned folks who think it's the truth... But I would go if you twisted my arm - and you don't have to worry about me stealing your popcorn either. ;)
