Today's my manager's birthday. Thoughtful person that I am, I took the extra effort to find a card that was really fitting. Left it on his desk this morning before I headed out to client appointments. He came in later - I was on the phone when he opened it. He hasn't even acknowledged it. So noted. |

All day long. He was sitting 2 desks away from me. I talked to him repeatedly and wished him (again) happy birthday at the end of the day.
Glad I didn't bother to chip in on the office gift. Definitely won't be doing that!

What a shame!
It seems as if I remember when you interviewed for your job, your impression of him was that he had 'no manners' or something to that effect ~ anyway, it appears he is living up to your 'first impression of him' ~ sad as it is!

You're right about the first impression - however, it's all smoke and no fire with the approach. And he's definitely not gone off the handle with me - I think he knows I won't respond to it.
