What A STEAL!
05.31.07 (1:03 pm)   [edit]
Years ago, I worked for the parent company of a major online retailer. As a result, we got some pretty nifty discounts. They've never removed the discounts and I frequently purchase stuff from them. Two weeks ago, they were having a special on a flat-panel LCD tv with built-in dvd player. With my discount, the price was too good to refuse. I checked online today to see where the tv was... It says it was delivered 10 days ago. HUH? UPS just left a box for a 36-inch tv on my front door step that is valued around $1000? Um, hello, steal me! They are re-sending it back out but they can't make any sort of notification to require a signature to UPS.

Well...I stumbeld across a flat-screen tv, just sitting upon the sidewalk. There were not labels, no id's. Really. Any address labels had been peeled away. So, what could I do? I took it home. And I want you to feel good knowing it is a fine television, and is being used everyday in the Lord's work. For me, it was a gift from above. And I say thank you.

Not quite sure how baseball and NASCAR are "God's work", but I'll make sure to refer the UPS investigator to your blog. ;)

I cannot believe a UPS guy would be so stupid. I'm either home all day (like yesterday) or I'm gone from 6:30am until after 9pm...

Pastor Dave is frontin' for someone. The whole "man of God" thing is a sham.

We do go door-to-door to invite people to church. Sometimes, in the process, "donations" are made. Rarely, but sometimes, those gifts are simply left at the door and I am sure it is intended by the generous benefactor that it be taken and used for a higher purpose. It is so nice that a Dear Sister would donate a flat screen t.v. to the cause. And I know it is incumbent upon me to be thankful. Thank you, scubadiva.

I can only imagine how you would justify the police finding a pound of pot in your trunk... Medicinal cure? Intervention? You thought it was oregano?
