Mauling during Movies
05.27.07 (2:11 am)   [edit]
Got an email from my date for tomorrow... Out of the blue he said something about a movie and lunch... I'm confused. We never discussed a movie. After all this fashion-planning for a basketball encounter... I haven't been to a movie with a date since...the Bond movie before Casino Royale - the one with Halle Berry in it. The sexual tension in the air was so strong and he kept nibbling on my neck, I didn't really understand the movie. I was kinda distracted. I don't really like doing movies for dates. I don't like to sit still for that long. Movie at home is different b/c you can get all comfy and not worry about smuggling in your own beverages. Back to bed. No chipmunk - dear or alive - yet.

Yehehe ... maybe he just said about the movie cause he just wanted to see you quick. And it's not prudent for a guy to ask his girl out to his or her house ... usually that's the girl's job ;) ... maybe if you fell more comfortable that way just tell him - I'm sure he'll like more the idea.

I mentioned in an email to him yesterday that my vacuum tipped over and fell on my foot - maybe he thinks I'm too injured to play?

Inviting a guy over to watch a movie is generally code for 'nookie'. I wish that it wasn't always that way - it'd be nice to just be comfortable and actually watch a movie.

I'm still really protective of my space since the rape - trusting people and myself. Beforehand, after three dates, I'd have no qualms about having him pick me up at my house. If I'm not comfortable with him picking me up at my place, I'm definitely not comfortable with him hanging out to watch a movie.

The litmus test for me is if I feel the guy is 'worthy' of knowing about what happened and the legal case ahead of me - and watching his reaction. Then again, I don't want to make it a big deal. It was a significant event in my life, but I'm still trying to figure out how to position it balanced that it is a significant event but I'm not damaged goods or a victim, blah blah blah.
