R.I.P. Alvin
05.12.07 (10:02 am)   [edit]
I'm so sad. I came downstairs yesterday afternoon to discover ALVIN, my beloved chipmunk, laying in my living room, dead. Sassy had caught him. This time she didn't let him go. Killer. Murderer. I know it's instinctual for her - and she's caught him on multiple occasions but always let him go unharmed. It's just not going to be the same without Alvin around. RIP Alvin.

Awww... poor Alvin! Did you hold a proper burial?

The ground is too dry/hard and I have the rotator cuff problems, so digging a hole would be asking for trouble. I feel bad about just tossing him the trash can... I had a nightmare about him last night. :(

Sorry about Alvin, Sassy was maybe a little jealous of him.

sorry to hear of alvin's demise
~ you mention that sassy usually lets alvin go; would this be before or after alvin was inside???
~ and then how did you get alvin to go outside, if that was the case?
~ cats can be so mischievious
~ i've had cats before and loved them
~ my current living arrangements do not allow for pets, so i take pleasure in reading of the antics of other people's pets (smile)

Sassy only brought Alvin in the house once. And what an adventure that was to get him back out! It took more than two hours and once I saw that he was in the house, Lulu and Sassy could have cared less... Guess that's why they don't have rodeo cats...

I just keep reminding myself that they do it out of love to present me with that stuff. I just keep reinforcing it when they bring me their toys and give no praise when I'm left a "non-toy".

I'm going to miss seeing him skamper around. Maybe I should put a sign out in the yard "ISO Chipmunk Please Apply Inside"

Or perhaps they shouldn't apply inside...
