Clock-watching
01.21.06 (8:16 am)   [edit]

Couldn't go to sleep last night. All this stuff on my mind and my heart and my shoulders. My mind won't shut up. It was 2:54am when I stopped glancing at the clock. I dozed off for a bit but awoke with another nightmare - second time this week that I was screaming and crying when I woke up.

So then I laid in bed for a few more hours, mind going again. Ambien doesn't work anymore for me, otherwise Iw ould have popped a handful. (Ok, exaggeration, but I have to take 4 to even remotely make me fall asleep so I don't bother taking it anymore.)

I thought some more. I need to stop thinking. I checked online for a do-it-yourself lobotomy kit, but they don't seem to offer any.

And Sassy my cat is now harboring a horrid shaggy 'do. Very choppy looking. I tried convincing her that Glamour Mag said choppy 'dos are ALL the rage but she just gave me her infamous eat shit look. Maybe a deep conditioning treatment would make her feel better?

ambien never worked for me. i hate the nightmares that make you wake up like that. i remember many nights where i'd force myself to stay awake because i was afraid to sleep.

My mind won't shut off. neither will the crying spells. My jaw aches, because I'm so stressed out. Constant headache that nothing works for. And my kitties give me the please get off the couch and feed me look. Totally know where you are coming from.

Bead
(The reply isn't working...) But nonetheless I'm sorry you're in that place. I guess I'm lucky that if I'm laying down, they are right on top of me. Perhaps my felines can talk to yours?

What a mental picture... you conditioning the cat's fur... go whole hog... itsy-bitsy dreadlocks

I am a "recovering" insomniac... diagnosed and everything. The whole mind racing thing is something that plagues me frequently. It sucks. When my mind races, though, it's usually over nothing important... and I can't control it. Grrrr...

Glad to hear that the shaggy 'do is in. My head is getting there quickly.

Ruined,
I'll be happy to break out my Dollar Store scissors and give you a trim anytime... Sassy won't come near me - I keep seeing spots I need to touch up.

Surrogate,
Actually, I *do* condition Sassy's fur when I give her a bath. It gets frizzy and tangled otherwise. (Plus it smells good.)
