Unisexually Topical
09.29.05 (4:33 am)   [edit]
Shifted the shoes in my closet from "summer" to "winter" position in my closet. Tossed 14 pair to Goodwill.

Doesn't that mean I have to immediately head out to find new ones to replace them?
(Rather ironic because I have pretty much lived in tennis shoes and flip-flops in the past year...)

I think there is a direct correlation between my shoe shopping (or lack thereof) and levels of depression. I need to get a research grant to study this. Perhaps DSW would be interested????

*I know any guy readers are rolling their eyes right now. I apologize for the girly ramblings. I'll try to be more unisexually topical next posting.

i agree about the shoe shopping vs. depression study.

Just this past weekend, I was feeling pissy, I went to Winner's, bought a new pair of boots, now I'm Happy :D LOL

What is it with girls and shoes? My wife cleaned out her closet last week and gave no less than forty pairs of shoes to Amvets. Today she tried to kick me off the computer so she could check ebay and see if she was still high bidder on a pair of Birkenstocks!!!! She just got a new pair of Doc Martin sandles. Why does she need the Birks? I took the opportunity to inform her that if she had extra money lying around to feel free to donate to the electric bill, car payment, house payment, etc..... That didn't go over very well.

I still don't get it. I have like three pairs of shoes. Seems like plenty.

Doc Martins? Birkenstocks? (shrugs head) Those shoes do NOTHING for a woman's legs or sense of fashion. She is not a stellar example of a shoe diva...

Shoes are the female equivilent of electronics or tools for you guys. Do you really NEED that extra thingamabob? Probably not, but...

I have a feeling after making the comment about contributing the $ for the bills, that you are a) sleeping on the couch b) clueless that she does it to make herself more attractive to you. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it)

I had over 200 pair. No way would I part with 40 of them. I bet I have at least 30 pair of shoes that I've never worn...

If you don't understand her shoe 'thing', you need to watch the entire Sex & the City series. I think it would be illuminating for you. It will explain women, shoes and probably educate you on a lot of stuff about us women.

You can watch it while you're tossing and turning on the couch.

Is there a correlation between the amount the shoe cost and the length of time the happiness lasts? And what if you got the shoes at a great discount? Does that extend the thrill?

Going for a new pair of shoes vs a new boytoy is probably a better idea providing you budget yourself.

You take 'steal' my methods of getting a shopping fix when you are broke...

1) Shop. Buy something. Then turn around and return it the next day.

2) Shop online. Fill your online shopping cart until it's overflowing and then close the screen and never check out.

These have helped but not quite the same as a 'real' shopping spree.
