Yesterday, I was at a redlight where there was a young woman (20ish) waiting at the bus stop. I glanced over at her, and noticed that she was sucking her thumb like a 3yr. old. Seriously. I remember it was 'in' for sucking pacifiers by a certain group of people - which was bad enough (for a multitude of reasons), but one's thumb? I'm not a germ-a-phobe, but YUCK! Has this become the latest 'in' thing to do? Maybe she was pandering to guys with a little girl fetish? (Like that is any better?) |

I doubt she was (I know thumb sucking and pacifiers and all that is a sign of 'e' (did a report on e in school, lol) for some reason the upcoming gen around that age seem to suck their thumbs a lot. I know a couple my age that still suck their thumbs....*smh*

It totally grossed me out. I'm just imagining her scooping up fries after sucking her thumb. (She wasn't in a fast food ensemble but the majority of folks that are at that stop usually work at the Wendy's, etc in the area)
Maybe she was hungry and was sucking the salt off her finger? (TRYING to give her the benefit of the doubt)

Or was she someone from the Gulf coast who was so tramatized that she reverted to a child in mental protection against the horrors she'd been through?
I've not seen that here in Michigan, who knows it may come if this is a widespread habit now!?!?!?!?
