Opps!
06.02.04 (12:06 pm)   [edit]
I'm sure this will be picked up by the national news circuits, but you can say you heard it here first...

Just north of Atlanta, a woman hired a tree company to take down a large dead tree in the back of her yard. Apparently, it was so large that it required a crane. Apparently, the dude operating the crane was an idiot, as the crane fell forward and literally sliced her house in 2. The homeowner was in the house, no one was injured, except the house, which is a total loss.

Here are links to 2 pics.

They said that it was not a malfunction of the crane, but operator errow. What do you bet the crane operator doesn't have a job next week?

It is all over the local news here in Atlanta. If you want to read the article, it's on www.ajc.com (you have to register, but I'm assuming drudgereport will link to it soon)

Oh man! What a clean slice that is! I just had a tree removed in appx January. I was upset that they didn't have their crane/cherrypicker. ("It's being repaired; but don't worry, our guys know what they're doing!") From the crew of about 4 guys, one climbed up (Jaime) and damn well impressed me. About a 60' high tree and he got it all down (limb by limb) with just a chainsaw. It's right next to my house, too, so I was impressed.

Want me to get the name of the tree cutting company - so you can make a note not to use them? LOL

Holy crap!
that 'operator' is not going to be able to find a job operating anything other than a spatula at McDonald's after this.
Again I say: Holy CRAP!!

That's the kind of thing that would happen to me. I can just imagine what my insurance agent would be saying when I called in the claim...

You suck. The female homeowner was in her house cooking dinner. Not quite sure how that makes her behind it.

Then again, we could blame a woman for all your crap - since you were born of a woman.

:P

Wow, that's crazy. How come I never have bad luck that could result in big legal suit winnings? I'm in a good start position too, since my wife is a lawyer.
